Glidecam: A Walk in the Park

I recently purchased a Glidecam Pro 4000 to use with my Canon XH-A1 camera. I intend to use the Glidecam for a variety of shooting situations that involve moving subjects: weddings, sports, hikes, concerts and a number of other events.

What the Glidecam does is allow video to be captured while a subject is moving without the usual bumpiness that comes with hand-carrying or shoulder-mounting the camera. In other words, it gives the impression the camera is floating.

Look at this video and pay attention to the “fluidness” of the camera. You won’t see the normal bumpiness that you might expect to see as a videographer walks along with the subject.

If you’d like to see a side-by-side comparison of a camera with the Glidecam and the same camera without the Glidecam, go to this link: http://dakvideo.com/?p=166.

If you would like your next video to have the professional look that comes with using a Glidecam, contact me to discuss the details.
